A few ingredients will bring that sweet pumpkin taste into your drinks, and they become relatively easy to find come fall. Some recipes use pumpkin ingredients commonly found in food, including pumpkin butter, purée, and seeds, and pumpkin pie filling or spice.

You will also notice pumpkin syrups, liqueurs, and vodkas appearing on store shelves as early as September. However, if you have a favorite brand, it's not a guarantee that it will be around next year. Pumpkin is a very seasonal flavor, and producers cannot always keep them going. If your favorite disappears, move on to the next option or learn how to make a substitute at home. There's always a way to get your pumpkin fix sometimes, you just have to get creative.

3 Pumpkin spice french toast casserole

As busy parents, we're often on the lookout for recipes that we can quickly throw together and bring with us to brunch at our in-laws or the neighbors down the street. Those types of recipes have seriously saved lives. This pumpkin spice french toast casserole recipe from The Cooking Jar is definitely one of those savior recipes.

This recipe is a two-parter, but it's only because there's a streusel — which, who can be mad about that? The french toast part is really easy and just requires you ripping up some french bread and throwing in some eggs, milk, pumpkin puree, sugar, vanilla extract and pumpkin spice.

The streusel part is very easily thrown together too with flour, brown sugar, ground cinnamon and nutmeg, salt, butter and walnuts. You can make this the night ahead and simply pop it in the oven on the day that you need it for 45 minutes at 350 degrees and you're golden.

Craving a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks?

Save money and stay keto! This homemade keto pumpkin spice latte Starbucks copycat recipe is a warm seasonal drink you&rsquoll FALL for. Imagine all the yummy flavors of pumpkin pie in a delicious low-carb latte. Even better, it only takes just a couple of minutes to make at home.

Hip Tip: For all the best keto drinks and smoothies, be sure to bookmark this page.

The secret to getting that addicting Starbucks pumpkin spice latte taste and texture is the Torani Sugar-Free Pumpkin Pie syrup. Combined with a strong brewed coffee or espresso, this adds a nice pumpkin spice flavor. I only used a teaspoon because I prefer for it not to be super strong, but feel free to adapt your amount to taste.

That said, it&rsquos not the cleanest keto product and is actually kind of difficult to track down to buy at the moment, so another great keto-friendly syrup to consider trying is NuNaturals Stevia sweetened Pumpkin Pie syrup. My Hip sidekick Jenna tried out the recipe with this clean keto syrup and had awesome results!

Health Benefits of Pumpkin Spice

Buried beneath the deluge of lattes, limited-edition snack foods and baked goods, the spice blend known as “pumpkin spice” has a nutritious foundation. And while it’s wise — for the sake of your waistline — to back off on the pumpkin spice Frappuccinos, ‘tis the season to take advantage of the health benefits of this ever-popular fall flavor combination.

Different pumpkin spice blends may have variations, but the core blend usually includes ground cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and allspice. Here are the health benefits of each.

Rich in cell-protecting antioxidants and unmistakable warmth, cinnamon is the star ingredient of pumpkin spice. There is also some research to support that cinnamon may help diabetics better control blood sugar.

Another warm fall spice, nutmeg boasts small amounts of fiber, numerous B vitamins and minerals.

The star component of gingerbread, this spicy powder contains important minerals like iron, potassium and zinc. It may also help relieve minor digestive problems.

Contrary to what the name suggests, this spice hails from a standalone fruit — a berry that is dried and ground into a fine brown powder. Allspice is used heavily in Jamaican cooking, and its pungent edge plays very nicely with pumpkin.

Pumpkin Spice Mule

Hooray, hooray! It&rsquos time for me to present September&rsquos Moscow Mule to y&rsquoall, and I&rsquom really pumped to share this one&hellip because I was unsure how I&rsquod feel about it.

Real talk: Pumpkin spice has not been my jam for a long time because I loathe nutmeg. Which is why we&rsquore making our own pumpkin spice syrup for this cocktail so that I could omit it and bring it all the other warming spices we know and love and associate with the fall. 😉

So&hellip this Pumpkin Spice Mule is the stuff dreams are made of&mdashsugar, spice, everything nice (which includes vodka and ginger beer. Because #duh.)

And once you make that homemade pumpkin simple syrup, you can make Pumpkin Spice Mules all fall long!
